Cadillac Hubcap

I found this old hubcap, down by the road
It had laid there for years, nobody knowed
It was a Cadillac hubcap, all shinny with chrome
I scrapped off the dirt and I took it on home
I scrapped off the dirt and I took it on home

I’ve got a Cadillac hubcap I found in the ditch
But I ain’t got no Cadillac, ain’t that a bitch
I’ve got this Cadillac hubcap, up there on the wall
It reminds me my friend that you can’t have it all
It reminds me my friend that you can’t have it all

Now there’s folks who have money, fortune and fame
People freak out when you mention their name
They might live in a mansion, surrounded by land
But happiness seems to slip right through their hands
Happiness seems to slip right through their hands

Sometimes at night I get to dreaming
Me and old Boss Hog are driving down the road
In that old rag top Eldorado
But I always wake up at home…

With my Cadillac hubcap I found in the ditch
But I ain’t got no Cadillac, ain’t that a bitch
